“Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you want it to go. You don’t get the job you’ve dreamed of having, you fail a test you studied so hard for, you get your heart broken by the person you loved, or you lose a loved one. No matter what it is, it seems like we’re always disappointed and hurt by something.

There’s no doubt that my family and I would’ve rather had things go a different way. We wish that mom was still alive, and everything was perfect. We miss her every single day and would do anything to get her back. But, life’s not perfect. You’re gonna get disappointed, heartbroken, hurt, angry, sad, and much more at some point in life.

Everyone’s had something happen to them in life to where they feel like just giving up. I know I have, multiple times. I’ve had my heartbroken and loved ones ripped from my life. And when it happens, it feels like a piece of my heart is taken from me. I believe everyone’s at least felt something like that before. Felt like giving up, trying to fix the past, and wishing everything would go back to the way it was. But, are you going to sit around doing those things? Or are you going to get up, shake it off, and keep moving forward?

A quote my dad shared with me when I was going through a rough time is one of his and my mom’s favorites. “It’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you get hit, and keep moving forward.”- Rocky Balboa

So after getting hit, are you just going to sit around sulking about it? Or are you going to get up and keep moving forward? I encourage you to get up, laugh, have fun, don’t mope about it, and keep moving forward. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.
